The Yellow Garden and Water Lily Garden Renovations
Demolition of the Pre-existing Garden Works -
These gardens were demolished and rebuilt simultaneously. Temporary construction access was cut diagonally up and into the Water Lily Garden from adjacent Jarrettsville Pike. From here, we were able to stage large equipment, dumpsters, and bulk material deliveries directly into the garden avoiding coming through adjacent gardens to the South and East.
Drainage was a major issue to be addressed. The (original) Pre-existing Water Lily Garden would often fill up with standing water during heavy rains and prolonged wet periods. Following demolition, a new large drainage trunk line was run north, out from the Water Lily Garden and down beneath and through the center of the Demolished Yellow Garden. It daylights into an existing intermittent creek just North the Yellow Garden.
